Last gospel session of 2009!

Hi there all you lovely gospelers!

I hope you’re all feel­ing very Christ­massy this evening!

Firstly, huge thanks to all of you for your par­ti­cip­a­tion over the last two weeks. You’ve all been abso­lutely amazing!

~ For those of you who missed any of it, here goes!

Wed­nes­day (way back on the 2^nd) we had a bit of an intense rehearsal! I was totally sur­prised at how much you all improved and really came together as a choir that night. You’ve all done so much great work in just ten weeks, well done to you all.

Thursday we had a great gig in Kil­cock, our first one this year! It was really good fun, and you were all great on stage, you looked the part and sang amaz­ingly. No fear of stages or mics here!

Wed­nes­day was our big night out in Maynooth and time to sing with the girls’ choir Nic­ola and I had been work­ing with. Thanks to every­one for being so nice to the girls. They had an amaz­ing time and I think more than one of the girls has set their sights on a cer­tain Spaniard!

Thursday night we took a trip to Cel­bridge to sing a few dit­ties with the Celbridge/Straffan choir. I’m not gonna lie.. there was hand-holding.

Fri­day night a few of us took ourselves along to Pugin Hall to sing at the Mature Stu­dents’ Christ­mas ball. We were (hap­pily!) joined by a few of the Celbridge/Straffan choir mem­bers and some enthu­si­astic dance moves from party guests!

Con­grat­u­la­tions to all of our soloists too — very impress­ive per­form­ances girls and boys! You’ve all come along alot since your first audi­tions and you should all be very proud.

Thanks so much to every­one who made it to both the mature stu­dents’ party and the Cel­bridge gig, we really appre­ci­ate all of your enthu­si­asm for, and ded­ic­a­tion to this little thing called Gos­pel.

In other news! Floz dearest has fin­ished with the record­ings from Wed­nes­day in Maynooth and they’re avail­able online along with some videos which some gen­er­ous people have uploaded to our… (wait for it)…

This week! we’ll be hav­ing our bye-bye ’09 Christ­mas party! (speak­ing of which, I’ve got a wad of cash to spend on refresh­ments for you people.. spark­ling water ok?) So bring along your voices and whatever instru­ments you play and we might even have a sur­prise or two in store… (oh it’s gonna be good!)

I reckon that’s about all that’s on this chick’s mind, so happy Christ­mass­ing every­body and I’ll see you all this Gospelday!
